Sounds Amazing is a conference on innovation in audio production hosted by the BBC Academy and BBC R&D Audio Team. It’s back in 2021 with a free online event on Thursday 2nd December.

There’s more info and a link to register at:

It’s presented by LJ Rich from BBC Click and our keynote introduction is given by Aled Haydn Jones, Head of BBC Radio 1. This year’s sessions include:

  • Headline talk from Nicolas Becker who won an Oscar for sound editing Sound of Metal

  • Exclusive chat with sound designer Oliver Tarney who worked on the latest James Bond Film - No Time To Die

  • How to make your audio stand out with sonic sounds from Jane Lingham, Head of BBC Branding and top advertising agency Wolff Olins

  • Future gazing new in-car audio systems and their potential effect on what we listen to with BBC R&D Blue Room

  • Up close with the winning entry from the BBC’s first International Podcast Competition

  • Soundscapes where “nothing you hear is by accident!” with Kahl Henderson the master sound mixer from BBC One’s flagship drama Vigil and the multi award winning audio artist Axel Kacoutie from the Guardian Podcast

  • A special audience with the very talented Benbrick who is a Peabody Award winning, multi-platinum selling British songwriter, producer and composer who has won 5 Gold British Podcast Awards.

It’s such a great lineup this year (there’s even a short talk on MakerBox!) — it would be great to see some of you there.
